Piero Bisazza can be seen as the the Versace of the luxury tile world. The chief executive officer of Bisazza, the Vicenza, Italy-based tile company, can be described as an “anti-minimalist,” slamming the ideals of the modernist movement of the early 20th century.
In the past the kitchen, bathroom and other “wet” areas are the most common place to find these stunning glass tiles. Bisazza, however, envisions the use this type of finish throughout the modern home, even in the living room.
A perfect example of this style is illustrated in the exuberantly tiled wall and console in Bisazza’s trendy SoHo showroom. Designed by Carlo Dal Bianco, luxury and extravagance are the only way to describe this amazing ensemble of craftsmanship.
The walls are adorned with a large scale floral pattern called Flowers Oro Bianco. The console towards the top frames this beautiful mosaic with a darkened lacquered wood, Damasco Oro Bianco. This exquisite show room also boasts an open fireplace covered in 24-carat gold leaf tile.
